Isle San Pietro and Carloforte

Pleasantly placed in south-western Sardinia, characterized by high and evocative reefs and coves with charming beaches with a transparent and pure sea, San Pietro Island is one of the favourite destinations for holidaymakers and pleasure boaters.

L'isola di San Pietro di Carloforte

Carloforte is the only inhabited area of the island. It was founded, during the reign of Carlo Emanuele III, by a colony of Ligurian fishermen coming from Tabarka, an island off Tunisia.  Carloforte, as anybody knows, has preserved its Ligurian characteristics that can be found in its dialect, traditions, customs and in its town planning.
Carloforte can be reached by ferry boat from Portoscuso or Calasetta in a passage of approximately 30/40 minutes.
