Welcome to the VI edition of Il Girotonno
From 29th May to 2nd June, 2009 the appointment with Girotonno will be back. This edition is based on the format of the previous edition with some new features. These are the main events:
- The International Gastronomic competition
- The Tasting laboratories
- The European tasting squares
- Carloforte Buskers Festival
It will be a four-day festival among Mediterranean flavours, activities, music and entertainments.
Welcome from the Mayor of Carloforte
It 'a real pleasure for me to give you welcome the seventh edition of Girotonno.
I'm really proud to see thousands of people arriving in our island to share with us, citizens of Carloforte, four days of celebrations, fun and good-taste. I want to say thank you to all collaborators who have worked everyday to reach perfection of this event.
The International Food & Wine Competition
The most important event of “Girotonno” will be the International food and wine competition. It will be judges by a panel of journalists specialized in the food and wine industry and animates by Mr Angelo Concas, journalists and sommelier.
The European Tasting Squares
Europe is a complex world, very different and rich by an historical and a cultural point of view, very different and similar at the same time.
The food and wine traditions reflect the habits of all countries and became parts of their resource.
Carloforte Buskers Festival
The City of Carloforte, is organising the second "Carloforte Buskers Festival" to bring joy, entertainment and fun offered by street artists. Carloforte become an open-air theater where Buskers provide a continuous show, in different disciplines, without rules or timetables.
